Lucy Lawless comes from New Zealand. She is both an actor and musician. The most notable of her work are the roles she took on in several popular television and film series, such as Xena Warrior Princess and Spartacus Blood and Sand. Among all her works as an actress her work was praised and remembered for her amazing portrayal of the character Xena. The role was originally meant to be played by actress Vanessa Angel but ultimately went to Lucy because she was not able to join the filming due to illness. With how the character was depicted, and how it was given the due to, it turned out to be one of the most popular shows on TV during the time it was on air along with other programs. It was such a hit in that Lucy's portrayal of Xena led to a spin-off show to be released in September of 1995. Following the spin-off, the show received another blow in its ratings as well as a cultural impact that made the series to last until 6 seasons, boosting Lucy's growing recognition as an actor. In addition to being known by fans as Xena Lucy, she is also known for her role as Diane Lewis Swanson from NBC's popular comedy Parks and Recreation where she was on the show from 2012 until 2015.
